Spurs youngster looking to leave

Former Spurs coaches look to take Spurs players, Harry Redknapp took Sandro, Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Tom Carroll to QPR as well as reuniting with others who played under him or for us.

Tim Sherwood is looking to take Emmanuel Adebayor to Aston Villa and has asked about Tom Carroll and Andros Townsend. Luke Young, Adel Taarabt the links between the two clubs go on and on.

Chris Ramsey, a former Tottenham coach and now QPR manager, has already bought Massimo Luongo, enquired about right-back Ryan Fredericks and has now taken 23-year-old centre-back Grant Hall in trial with a view to a permanent move.

Hall looks unlikely to make the grade at Tottenham being loaned out twice last season to Championship sides. Another former player, centre-back Steven Caulker, has joined Southampton on loan from relegated QPR soRamsey is looking towards a player he knows to bolster the position It would probably be a good move for Hall as well, working with a coach he knows and with a club still in London.

He has spoken before about leaving Spurs this summer with opportunities likely to come his way and he has been training with QPR. He spoke to the Spurs website back at the beginning of July.

"I'm fully fit, back in training and hungry to play. I need to get settled at a club and settled off the pitch as well. I wasn't here when the gaffer came in and I haven't been around the club so it's understandable that I'm not really in his plans. I just want to play, so I'm looking for a loan or permanent move.
"Playing games is key for me. I've another year here at Spurs but I don't want to be sitting around. I'm 23 and I need to be playing and taking my career to the next level."

Hall came on as a half-time substitute in the 1-1 pre-season friendly draw against Atalanta and Chris Ramsey explained he was looking at him with a view to a move.

“I thought Grant did okay. He’s still a young boy in his early 20s and you look to bring that ilk of player in for the future. We probably wouldn’t want to bring him in as a mainstay centre-half at the moment. It’s about competition and people fighting for places and prizing their way into the team. We need to recruit (a centre-back)."

Ryan Mason broke through a Spurs aged 23 and players abroad are in club first teams in their teens. We have to find a way to develop players quicker so that we have a longer life span out of them. Bentaleb was only 19 when he made his debut, it's really at that age that we want them playing fiorst team football.

Chelsea often loan their players out to Vitesse, a team they have an arangement with, 19-year-old Brazilian Nathan, 19-year-old Serbian Danilo Pantić, 18-year-old Englishman Isaiah Brown and 20-year-old Engliahman Lewis Baker all beginning loan spells there this season. We haven't yet been able to secure a similar agreement abroad but have been looking closer to home, first Swindon Town and then Coventry City.

We need 21 year-old players breaking through or players like Dele Alli who will be slowly be brought along this season with a view to a fuller part being played next season. If a player at 23 is still not a first choice at Championship level there has to be doubts he should be retained. It is the problem with Charlie Austin, at 26 he has only just played his first season at Premier League level, if you buy a similar player aged 21 you are getting four or five more seasons out of him so assuming the goal output is the same, the younger player is the far better deal.
